Heroes creator and currently on strike writer Tim Kring had some very interesting comments recently regarding the new
season of Heroes. The full interview Kring did is on Entertainment Weekly right now, but here are some of the juicy tidbits from Kring.
Kring on the current pace of Season 2…
‘We assumed the audience wanted season 1 — a buildup of intrigue about these characters and the discovery of their powers. We taught [them] to expect a certain kind of storytelling. They wanted adrenaline. We made a mistake.”
Kring on the new Heroes Cast members…
“The way we introduced Elle (Kristen Bell) — by weaving her in via Peter’s story line — is a more logical way to bring new characters into the show.”
Kring comments on Hiro’s time in Japan…
“it should have [lasted] three episodes. We didn’t give the audience enough story to justify the time we allotted it.”
Kring on Heroes romances of season 2…
”I’ve seen more convincing romances on TV,” he admits. ”In retrospect, I don’t think romance is a natural fit for us.”
Some quite revealing stuff there from Kring, what do you think? I am in total agreement and look forward to the series taking things up a notch here in the second half of the season.
